Golfing

Caleta de Fuste has it's own Golf club which is the Fuerteventura Golf Club, in Caleta de Fuste, near the airport. It has been fully open since Spring 2002 and was designed by architect Juan Catarimeau. The course is designed very much with the prevailing north, north/westerly wind in mind, making three of the par 3’s with a head wind which makes club selection all so important. There are two par 5’s and the rest are par 4’s. The course is generally on the flat with exception of the 17th & 18th. It boasts an impressive 5 star clubhouse, the Elba Palace Golf Resort Hotel. It has a pro-shop, resident PGA professional, driving range, chipping area, practice bunker and putting green.

Dress code
Whilst not being over strict on dress code due to the fact that a certain percentage of people playing the course are on holiday, it is imperative to wear a collared shirt or polo, tailored shorts or trousers and reasonable footwear. The no no’s of the course are blue jeans, beach wear, t-shirts or no shirt at all! As regards footwear, spiked golf shoes are not allowed, they must have soft, plastic spikes. Alternatively, though not ideal, smart trainers or plimsoles are permitted.

Prices
Green fees for 18 holes are 52 Euros, 9 holes costs 38 Euros. A bucket of 40 balls on the driving range costs 3 Euros, the putting chipping areas are free. (These are current prices and may be subject to change)

Club, Trolley and Buggy Hire
There are two types of clubs for hire, a set of Wilson's will cost 18 Euros and a set of Calloway's cost 32 Euros. If you decide to take the Calloway's, a deposit is required, normally held on a credit card. Trolley hire costs just 3 Euros and a 2-seater buggy costs 30 Euros for 18 holes.
